Part II
Now, how do you figure out the percentage of how much the tumors have shrunk? That’s a wee bit complicated.
When I asked Dr. Walsh he said, “Well if you remember back in school…” and then launched into an extremely long, highly complicated equation. Something like length x width x circumference x pi with a whole lot of other things thrown in.
I tried my best to follow his explanation. Then when the math, the logic and the science went over my head I just faked it. I leaned in, I nodded every now and then and I alternated between a furrowed brow and raised eyebrows in an attempt to feign my understanding. What I wanted to say is, “Dr. Walsh. You have an enormously, huge brain. I do not have a big brain. I am a mathematical idiot and somewhat of a Science dimwit. I struggled through high school math and took two Math for Morons classes in college in order to fulfill my requirement for a diploma. I can guarantee you that in any of the classes I took; the equation you just outlined never once came up. You lost me at pi.”
In any event, the tumors are shrinking and I’m in a better place than I was in January. I’m hoping that I continue toward an even better place. The next scan is huge and I’m hoping for huge results.
The rest of the summer is going well. I’ve lost all control of Jackson (and quite possibly Lauren if you really want to know!!). I’m not sure if Greg is warming up to Jackson considering that he has asked him several times in the last few days if he’d like to go visit Michael Vick. Yes, he’s kidding and NO he’s NOT funny!!!!
I hope you’re all enjoying the summer.
Cheryl: the guinea pigs are NOT for sale..they’re very FREE!!!!! And yes they’re still available. You can take just one BUT if you take both of them you can get the cage, the water bottle, food, timothy hay….the whole thing FREE!!! Those things can be in Oxford faster than you could imagine!!! J Let me know if you want them (or one—because even just one is free!).
