Hi,
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted—actually it’s been about three months (almost to the day). I feel like I should write a “What Did You Do Over Your Summer Vacation” essay. Maybe I’ll get to that at some point.
I’ve completed another six rounds of chemo WITH the Avastan. I had no fatal lung bleeding so that’s a good thing. J
I had another PET scan on August 1 and received the results yesterday.
My main tumor and the mediastinal tumors have all remained stable. I would have liked them to regress and be back in remission but that’s not the story right now.
They also discovered several nodules in my lungs. They don’t know what they are. They could be some sort of infection or they could be the cancer spreading. I had a CT scan last night so Dr. Walsh could take a better look at their structure and I have an appointment with my Thoracic Surgeon to see if they will biopsy the nodules.
So I’m worried—to put it mildly. I’m hoping for good news tomorrow and hoping I don’t need a biopsy. The biopsy would be fairly invasive so I would be in the hospital for 2-3 days; And that is certainly not the way I want to spend my last week of the summer.
I will keep you all updated! I won’t wait another three months before I post.
Dana and Christine Gillis: I just found the email you sent us about three months ago. We no longer use aol for our email address, although the account is still active. We now have Abusheery@verizon.net but the aol account is still active. I was cleaning out aol and stumbled upon it. We owe you a response…I don’t want you to think we completely ignored your email!
Talk to you all soon.
Love,
Kim
