Hello all,
The Zofran seems to be keeping the nausea at bay but I don’t have much of an appetite. And I’m still trying to shake this exhaustion; all I want to do is lie down. I’m even too tired to go shopping. If I’m not up for eating or shopping, you know I’m not 100%! J I’m hoping to bounce back a bit this weekend.
I’d like the share the following quote from Mother Theresa: “We can do no great things, only small things with great love.”
You have all done great things for my family and me. When I try to thank you and say you’ve done too much, you all seem to reply, “It’s no big deal.” It’s a big deal to me and I’m quite sure the things you have done have been done with love. Thank You!
The cookies, the flowers, the meals, the phone calls, the visits the emails the posts, the cards, the candy, the gifts, the meals, the gift certificates, I could go on and on (and you all know I could!): they are all truly appreciated from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you to Cat and Bill and Jen and Sean for climbing 40 stories on March 17 all in the name of Lung Cancer. However, I feel bad that I might not have lung cancer (and I guess that is yet to be determined) but they still raised money for a worthy cause. I’m hoping their looking for some sort of aerobic fundraiser for colon cancer. Then I plan on telling just them that my diagnosis has changed a few more times just to see how many butt-kicking fundraisers they’re willing to do in my name.
I neglected to mention that the MRI of my cervical spine is fine. As you might remember, my last PET scan showed an increased uptake of glucose in my left C5 vertebrae. I guess there are several reasons why the PET scan would show an increased uptake in that area but it’s not cancer so I’m not worried!
I’ve had such a hard time with the neuropathy this time around. The pain is hard to explain but it makes it difficult to do anything until I’ve run my hands under hot water. However, I now have my own pair of Silver gloves, a la Michael Jackson, courtesy of Mary Jane Rasku. Thank you! They actually might come in handy. I was considering getting myself a pair of gardening gloves just to be able to do things like make a sandwich for my kids. I’m telling you, I have to stop and fix my hands at least two to three times just to make them lunch because those pins and needles hurt! Now I don’t have to. I have a very snazzy pair of silver gloves (they look like gardening gloves) and I plan on wearing them with pride!
And if you happen to see my Lauren running around town with her mittens on these fine 60 degree days, please don’t think she’s showing solidarity for her mother. The kid is obsessed with her mittens and if I don’t wean her off of them soon, I’m afraid she’ll be wearing them to the Holden Pool this summer! I’m tempted to call her strange, but I guess the apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree does it??
Have a great weekend.
Love,
Kim
